From 4 to 8 September 2012, on the basis of the Main Department of EMERCOM of Russia in Kaluga region held the all-Russian open competition for the Cup of EMERCOM of Russia on fire-applied sport among ministries and agencies dedicated to memory of Hero of Russia V. M. Maksymchuk. In the competition participated teams of the regional centres EMERCOM of Russia, Department of fire and rescue forces, special fire security and civil defence forces EMERCOM of Russia, Main directorates of EMERCOM of Russia for the city of Moscow and the Kaluga region, Armed forces of the Russian Federation, Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of education of the Russian Federation, Gazprom, LUKOIL, Transneft, the Central Council of all-Russia voluntary fire society, FSO. Only 130 athletes from 16 teams.
The Grand opening event took place on 5 September at the stadium "Annenki" in Kaluga. Athletes were welcomed by the Deputy head of the Central regional center of EMERCOM of Russia Lieutenant-General A. V. Surkov, head of the Main Department of EMERCOM of Russia in Kaluga, the General-the major of internal service Vladimir I. Klimenko, head of the Central sports club of EMERCOM of Russia A. P. Kalinin.
The program of the competitions includes overcoming 100-meter obstacle course, fire relay race, the rise of a hook ladder into the window of the 4th floor of the training tower and combat deployment. The winners will be determined on 8 September.
