IRAS-S is a multifunctional non-mechanized tool for carrying out special and emergency rescue operations.

IRAS-S hand-held emergency rescue tool
The IRAS-S (Hooligan type) is a multifunctional, non-mechanized firefighting tool. It is based on a single rod with several rigidly mounted working elements.
The tool is used to extinguish fires, eliminate man-made and natural emergencies, conduct emergency rescue operations in road accidents, and in other cases where deformation or destruction of building and other structures is required.
IRAS-S design
The tool's core is a steel handle with serrations and a non-slip coating . It features metal strap loops for attaching a belt.
At one end is a multi-purpose head A , comprising a curved tip and a flat wedge with a heel. On the opposite side is a wedge, divided by a working groove, forming two parallel claws.
All working parts are non-removable and rigidly fixed to the handle.
Assignment of working bodies
Pika
A long, curved pry bar with a pointed end is used for working with door locks and latches, lifting manhole covers, piercing sheet metal up to 5 mm thick, opening window and door glazing, and removing glass from emergency vehicles in the event of an accident.
Flat wedge with heel
A smoothly curved flat wedge is designed for opening and closing windows, entrance and interior doors, and sliding elevator doors. When used in conjunction with the wedge and the pick, the tool can perform some of the functions of a hydraulic rescue tool.
The back of the heel can be used as a striking instrument.
Wedge with a working groove
A wedge with two slightly curved parallel claws is used for extracting nails, screws, studs and nuts, opening padlocks, removing deadbolts and removing external door hinges.
The working groove also allows the valves to be shut off in the absence of a wing nut by placing the valve tail between the claws of the wedge.

Performance characteristics
The mechanical properties of IRAS-S metal are not lower than those of grade 45 steel according to GOST 1050 .
The maximum bending force when working with any working element is no more than 785 N.
The instrument remains operational at temperatures from -40 °C to +80 °C and relative air humidity up to 95% at a temperature of 25 °C .
IRAS-S remains operational and safe after falling onto a concrete base from a height of (1.0 ± 0.1) m .
